Whitman County Community Court

Judge Hart Robe

Mission Statement

The Whitman County Community Court is a program designed to assist participants and address underlying mental health and/or substance use disorder conditions that lead to criminal behavior. Instead of traditional sentences and probation, our community court is designed to afford the participant an opportunity: to acknowledge the need for assistance and to enter into a supervised, structured, treatment-based program designed to help manage their mental health and/or substance use disorder diagnosis. The program includes enhanced accountability, requires full payment of restitution when owed and requires progress and enhancing one’s life skills. The goal is simple: a healthy, law abiding life for the participant and a safer community for us all.
